THIRD PRAKARAM

     To move from fourth Prakaram to Third Prakaram one has to pass through a magnificent gopuram called Kili (Parrot) Gopuram
Kili (Parrot) Gopuram
There is an interesting incident associated with this Gopuram where Saint Arunagirinathar became a parrot. 

Deepa Darshana Mandapam

At the inner side of third Prakaram facing Kili Gopuram is 16 pillared Deepa Darshana Mandapam. During Karthigai Deepam day Pancha Murthis (Five deities) give darshan from this Mandapam.
Passing through this Mandapam one can get into Arunachaleswarar Sannathi.
At the left side of Kili Gopuram Panneer Mandapam and Madapalli (temple Kitchen) are located.
Sambanda Vinayagar Sannathi
Sambandar Vinayagar Sannathi is located at the front side of Arunachaleswarar sannathi facing east. Similarly on the northern side is Palani Andavar Sannathi. In front of Arunachaleswarar Sannathi facing the Lord Arunachaleswarar is Golden Flag staff with Pali Peetam.

Sacred Tree of the Place (Mahizha Tree)

At the southern side of third Prakaram stood Mahizha maram, the sacred tree of the place (sthala Virutcham).
The flowers of the tree is also used for Poojas to the main deity. The trunks, flower and seeds of this tree has medicinal values.
Childless devotees hang boon cradles made of cloth to the branches of tree with great reverence to Lord Arunachaleswarar. They are miniature of baby cradles, when their prayer is fulfilled they bring their infants and remove their cradles and make offerings.
Kalyana Mandapam (Marriage Hall)
At the southern side of III South Prakaram stands a spacious Kalyana Mandapam. This Mandapam is opened during Panguni Uthiram to celebrate the marriage of Lord Siva and Sakthi, and for Karthigai Deepam and other special days.

The temple office is located at Vasantha Mandapam . Adjoining to Vasantha Mandapam Kalatheeswarar Sannathi and Yaha Salai are located
Adjoining to Temple office Mandapam famous Pidariamman Sannathi is located and in front of this Sannathi stands a majestic  huge stone tirsulum (Trident) which is rare to find in other temples.  And next to this sannathi, Chidambareswarar, Jambukeswarar and Ekambareswarar sannathi are located.
